This blog was written in a time when we longed to see Walker grace any streaming service. We weren’t even asking for HD!
But currently, Peacock is giving us both!
That said, if streaming ain’t your thang, we got you covered with the many options from our original blog below!
In the streaming era, Walker, Texas Ranger has kept a mean chokehold on TV syndication. Bobbing and weaving between the latest Western and All Night Testosterone Network to even the Hallmark Channel at one point, it’s predominantly stand-alone episode format and ginormous episode count have kept it in constant rotation since the show wrapped in 2001. As such, it is one of the last streaming holdouts and isn’t even available for purchase digitally.
So what options does that leave the would be Walker, Texas Ranger fan?
Set your DVR for Roundhouse Kick!
With episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger airing every night between catheter commercials at 3AM, setting your DVR or PLEX server to record the series will likely net you a season’s worth of TV in no time! Check your local listings or IMDB’s TV listing guide here. On the horizon, newer “TV” apps like pluto TV have also been known to air our favorite ranger!
DVD sets on eBay and Amazon fOR $7-$15
You aren’t testing the waters anymore. You actually kept your DVD player. Shop used DVD collections at your Local Thrift Store, eBay or if you must Amazon.
Avoid buying the truck stop DVD TV Movie Collections; these are comprised of various two-part episodes from the series. For around the same price you can buy the complete season from which the two-part episode originated.
Seasons 1 & 2 were combined for the show’s first DVD volume. As such, the DVD collections do not correlate with the actual season and episode production codes; you’ll see variations in the labeling of episodes on the TV Database and IMDB.
The 2015 reunion special, “Trial by Fire“, is only available in the complete box set.
Don’t expect HD or Bonus Features. The show is enough. Let’s not get greedy!
